The map shows landmarks like trees and rivers, settlements throughout New England, and colonists and natives engaging in war.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"colorbox\" href=\"http:\/\/jcb.lunaimaging.com\/luna\/servlet\/detail\/JCBMAPS~1~1~1087~101880001:A-Mapp-of-New-England?sort=normalized_date%2Cfile_name%2Csource_author%2Csource_title&amp;qvq=q:king%2Bphilip%27s%2Bwar;sort:normalized_date%2Cfile_name%2Csource_author%2Csource_title;lc:JCBMAPS~1~1&amp;mi=1&amp;trs=4#\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Primary Source #2: William Bradford and the \u201cFirst Encounter\u201d<\/p>\n<p>published in London, 1622: Pilgrim Hall Museum<\/p>\n<p>This source is a letter written by William Bradford, early explorer of Plymouth and his first encounter with the native population.  He writes that in December, 1620, him and a few others were attacked as they heard a horrible shout from the natives.  Bradford and the other men sent the arrows left behind to England and called the place where both sides met the \u201cFirst Encounter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"colorbox\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pilgrimhallmuseum.org\/bradford_17th_century_documents.htm\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Primary Source #3:  <em>Edward Randolph&#8217;s report of King Philip&#8217;s War in New England, 1675.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Smithsonian Source: Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies.<\/p>\n<p>This source briefly discusses reasons for the aggression coming from the Native Americans.
