This topic would deal with how the early growth of the republic and then subsequent explosion of southern cotton necessitated a refocusing of Native American policy in the eyes of the American government. Was it a shift in policy or something ingrained in the American psyche?<\/li>\n<li>Most likely my topic: Slavery as a complex, efficient Southern industrial system.
