The importance of this artistic \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0image is twofold. First, it is a representation of the kinds of publicity the women&#8217;s movement worked to promote. The second important aspect is that it has a number of allegories within the picture. While the most obvious allusion occurs within the political realm, there are a number of allegorical references to religion which helps the argument that the women&#8217;s movement really came out of a revival and new evangelical belief system in which women emerged as strong voices for their own beliefs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Willard, Frances E. &#8220;Address to Women&#8217;s National Council.&#8221; Modern History Source Book, 1997.
