In 1200-1700 words (roughly 5-7 pages, double spaced) contextualize an “artifact” that exemplifies some intersection of gender and technology in terms of the theory we have covered in this class.
These contextualizations should:
- Clearly articulate the cultural and historical significance of the artifact (this can include the chronology, maker, and/or other things like it).
- Explain the artifact’s historical context.
- Make some kind of historical argument about the artifact (see the list of historical questions here).
- Explain how one/some of the theories we have read help us to more. deeply understand the artifact.
- Make clear and innovative claims.
- Reference specific pieces of evidence from the artifact.
- Include proper references (to THREE sources from the class readings and TWO outside sources)
